Before you compare

Most issuers don’t publish a minimum credit score, and approval also depends on income, existing debt and recent applications. This page only lists cards whose issuer states a credit level on its own site, and shows that level on each card. We never estimate one, so popular cards from issuers that publish nothing are not here. Checking whether you pre-qualify on the issuer’s site does not affect your score.

How we score cards
Rewards you will use

With good credit, the main question is where you spend. A flat-rate card covers everything; a category card pays more on dining, groceries or gas.

Best cash back cards Flat-rate cards Rewards calculator
Travel and points

Travel cards often ask for excellent credit. Points are worth more when transferred to airlines and hotels.

How this page is built

Live consumer cards whose issuer states on its own site that the card is for good or excellent credit (for example a Capital One “Credit Level”, PenFed’s “Good/Excellent Credit”, or a Citi or U.S. Bank FAQ answer). Cards whose issuer states no credit level are left out rather than guessed, so many well-known cards are not on this list. A range such as “good to excellent” counts as good. Store, business, student and secured cards are left out. Sorted by the overall score, the same score our other rankings use. Partner (affiliate) links never change which cards appear or their order; an Apply button may become a labelled partner link, but the ranking is the same either way.

Card details come from our database, which is verified against each issuer’s website; see our methodology, editorial policy and corrections policy.

Good to Excellent Credit Cards FAQ

Which cards for good to excellent credit ranks highest right now?

Capital One Venture X Rewards (Capital One) has the highest overall score among the 24 cards for good to excellent credit we compared, followed by Visa Platinum and Capital One Venture Rewards.

How many cards are for excellent credit and how many for good credit?

Of the 24 cards here, 7 are for excellent credit by the issuer’s own wording and 17 for good credit or better (many issuers say “good to excellent”).

Which issuers state a credit level?

On this page: Capital One, University Of Illinois Community Credit Union, PenFed, U.S. Bank, Citi, PenFed Credit Union, Discover, US Bank and Navy FCU. Other issuers don’t publish one, so we leave their cards out instead of guessing.

Will these cards approve me if I have good credit?

Not for certain. The level shown is what the issuer says it looks for, and approval also depends on income, existing debt and recent applications. The issuer’s pre-qualification check is the best guide before you apply.

How often is this list updated?

The site rebuilds whenever card data changes in our database and at least once a month. This page was built from data checked November 8, 2026. Always confirm current terms on the issuer’s site.
