Assumptions. Net = rewards on the spending at the card’s base rate (cash back at face value, points at our stated value) minus the foreign transaction fee on the converted amount and minus the card’s annual fee (US-dollar cards’ US-dollar fee is converted at the rate above). Rate defaults to the Bank of Canada daily average on October 7, 2026; the regular card’s fee defaults to 2.5%, the rate commonly applied by Canadian issuers but only where the issuer states it for that card. A card whose issuer states 0% is treated as 0%. US-dollar cards bill in USD with no conversion. Spend that you would convert at a bank’s own rate is not modelled.
