How do I know if redeeming points is worth it?

Use Tab 3 — Cash vs. Points. Enter the cash price, award cost in points, and any taxes or fees. The calculator shows your exact cents-per-point and compares it to the program average. If your CPP meets or exceeds the program average, redeeming is worth it. Below that, consider paying cash.

What is a good cents per point redemption?

Chase UR average is 1.5c per point, good is above 2.0c. Amex MR average is 1.3c. Flying Blue typically delivers 1.3–1.9c. Hyatt is the most valuable hotel currency at 1.5–1.8c typical. Anything below 1.0c on transferable points should be saved for a better redemption.
